Wendy began her love affair with yoga in 2002 in New Orleans. After
suffering whiplash in a car accident, she had been unable to find a
way to alleviate her constant tension and pain. Searching for a way to
relieve this pain, she encountered her first yoga class. The effects
of the practice on her condition were amazing. Seeking out and finding
a wonderful teacher, Elaine Orr, Wendy was able to develop her own
practice into a formidable habit, one that she hopes to share with
many others.
Since she moved to the Central Coast in 2008, Wendy continued her practice, but as a home practice since there were not many options for North County residents. It became her goal to bring yoga and its wonderful effects to the residents of Paso Robles. She successfully completed the 200-hour teacher training certification through Yoga Works and in 2010 opened Dharma Yoga Studio. Since opening the doors to the studio she has realized her dream of creating a community of yogis that continue to grow and develop together.
I stepped into yoga here in Paso Robles in 1999. I left the central coast to find myself in 2001. I spent time in Boston, Lake Arrowhead, Mexico, and San Diego. Over the years I studied Ashtanga and Iyengar among other yoga styles. Upon the suggestion of my teacher I became an instructor. Through my journey I have come to realize that the posture while important are not the final destinations of yoga but rather transportation to the final destination on the journey going nowhere. My instructional style embraces what I believe to be essential postures and practices for the mind, body, and soul. The attitude and energy we bring to our yoga practice is as important as the postures. I hold the yogic view that the human body is a self-healing and self-regulating system if we return it to the natural state. I have the deepest respect and admiration for all yoga practitioners. I invite you to let yoga delight your mind, body, and soul. Namaste!

Angie Hager began teaching yoga in 1998 to a large group of beginner and willing participants. She had taught several other classes in fitness centers, but truly fell in love with the peacefulness and serenity of yoga. In 2003, she completed the Anusara Yoga teacher training and has continued to teach several variations of yoga. Being an Exercise Physiologist, Angie really appreciates the physical benefits of yoga and teaching participants to become more aware of their body and breath.
Melissa was introduced to yoga in 2005 while in school in Boone, NC, nestled in the Appalachian mountains. Graced with amazing teachers, she completed her 200hr Vinyasa Teacher Training in May 2010 at Neighborhood Yoga in that same town. Having just recently moved to the Central Coast in August 2011, she is thrilled to have the opportunity to practice and teach in the North County. Her classes are dynamic and incorporate asana with pranayama as well as teachings from classic yoga texts. She believes that yoga is a unique opportunity to practice being a better person inside and out, and is ultimately a search for our true Self. Her personal practice as well as her classes are inspired by her other profession as an aspiring farmer and agrarian.
I was first inspired by yoga 6 years ago when I was searching for something to alleviate my back pain. I took my first class in Templeton in 2006. Not only did I find pain relief, but I found accepting and uplifting support through my instructors. I became captivated by the emotional, mental, and spiritual peace I found through yoga. It was so life-changing for me, I felt inspired and obligated to share with others, so I studied and earned my 200 hour teaching certification in November 2009 at The Expanding Light at Ananda in Nevada City, Ca, where the realization of yoga as a lifestyle was revealed to me. As a new mother, I know firsthand how beneficial it is to incorporate a yoga practice into your life; to cultivate increased patience, strength, energy, a lightened heart, and a more relaxed mind.
As a yoga instructor, my aim is to be supportive, inspirational, and attentive of your individual needs and goals, while also promoting a sense of community and fun in each class. It is my hope to share the opportunity yoga gives us to find inner peace in this hectic world. I am excited to show you how Yoga can be personal and unique to you. It truly is for everyone regardless of age, gender, body type, personality, or religion. I hope to see you in class. Joy is within You!

I was introduced to yoga in 2000 at San Luis Obispo's Yoga Centre where I fell in love with the ritual. Practicing yoga builds physical strength and stability while calming a busy mind and creating peace and happiness within. Since moving to Paso Robles in 2003 I have taught yoga in San Luis Obispo, Santa Margarita and Paso Robles. I'm grateful that Wendy has created a peaceful and welcoming place here in downtown Paso Robles for us to practice in. Yoga is a powerful activity that forces us to balance between knowing our limits and expanding our abilities. I feel privileged to share within my classes the sequences, techniques and knowledge I've acquired over the years.
